As of 7/16/1977. Walter M. (Pat) Thackara, New York, is vice president and manager of the Commercial Paper Issuers unit of A.G. Becker. Prior to joining the firm’s Commercial Paper Department in 1958, Pat was a municipal bond trader with Bear Stearns. He attended Duke University where he played football.

Pat worked for some 27 years for Becker in a number of credit securities sectors retiring as a Senior Vice President. Not known by many, Pat was a gourmet cook, played upright bass, was an avid dancer, boatsman on Lake Champlain, wood craftsman, and life long hunter and fisherman. He was an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and competent securities man, and a good example for younger associates.

Burlington Free Press, April 9, 2015. Walter McIntyre Thackara,age 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 25, 2015 in his home in Sanibel, FL. He also had a home in South Burlington/Mallets Bay, VT. and formerly resided in Red Bank, NJ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny, and a sister; he was survived by a daughter; a son; six grandchildren; and a great grandson.
