Samuel (Sam) Yonce was born in 1931 in Chicago. He grew up in Lake Forest, IL and New York City. He attended prep school and then graduated from Yale University in 1954, where he played varsity ice hockey. After college, he was in the U.S. Air Force emerging as a Captain. He was then employed in the securities industry for 35 years working for First Boston, A.G. Becker, and other firms. He joined Becker in 1968 as syndicate manager and carried out that role with excellence through 1973, when he resigned apparently to join another firm. It appears he retired in about 1993, having worked in the securities industry up to that date. He passed away in 2012 at the age of 81.

Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Boca Grande, FL. Samuel McClay Yonce, age 81, passed away in Greenwich on September 18, 2012 due to complications from surgery. He was born in Chicago in 1931, graduated from Yale Univesity in 1954, served in the Air Force. and spent 35 years in the securities industry. He was a resident of Boca Grande and formerly of Greenwich, CT. He was a member of various clubs and enjoyed competitive sports. He was an avid outdoors-man. He is survived by his widow, Lizora; three sons; and four grandchildren.
