Micheal (“Mike”) O’Reilly, born in 1929, originally from Manhattan and County Meath, Ireland, graduated in the early 1950s from The Brooklyn Polytehnic Institute with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He then served in the U.S. Army, after which he graduated from the Harvard Business School in 1957. After working for Exxon, he approached Becker in the late 1960s with a proposal to form an investment partnership to fund the purchase of small and medium sized businesses generally identified by entreprenuers. Such entrepreneurs might be unemployed and searching for investment opportunities, or employed and considering the purchase of the business which they were managing within a larger company, or a division or operation in that or another company. The partnership, Becker Entre-Capital was formed with Mike as manager. For more about that business, see Appendix C-6. The operation was closed in 1972-73 with mixed success.

After Becker, Mike worked briefly for UniRoyal after which he purchased and managed RMS Corporation, Kitchener, Ontario, for abut ten years, which he sold in 1999. He then retired.
