Gerald (Jay) Dunne joined Becker some time after 1925 and was an early head of the “Statistical Department” which he set up, probably under the tutelege of David Friday. Dunne co-authored with Bob Schaffner some essays about Germany. Jay was apparently the head of the department until 1948, being succeeded then by Don Gally, who was succeeded in 1952 by John Fox, who was head through late 1954. In due course, the department began to be called the “Analytical Department” and then later the “Investment Research” Department.
