David (Dave) was born in 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up in Rockford, IL, where he was an outstanding athlete. Dave graduated from Cornell and then from the University of Chicago Business School in the early 1950s. He married Lucy Chilfgren in 1956 and lived in Winnetka. He worked at Booz, Allen for a period, and then joined A.G. Becker & Co. to pioneer, plan and develop the funds evaluation service, which he did very successfully in the period 1965-1967. Under his management, the business experienced high growth from 1968-1971 at which time Dave was put in charge of a new Corporate Services Division, As noted in the Chronicle, this organizational grouping was quickly evaluated to have been an organizational mistake, to no fault of Dave, and the decison promptly reversed. Shortly, Dave resigned to become President and CEO of Fansteel, Inc. When it was acquired in 1976, Dave led an investor group in acquiring Sciaky Bros. Inc.,a Chicago manufacturing company which he then sold, becoming President and CEO of Baker, Fentress & Co., an invesment company. He served on various corporate boards, and was an avid golfer. He died suddenly in early 2014 at the age of 83.

David D. Peterson died suddenly on January 30, 2014. A long-time Winnetka resident, he had a wide-ranging business career in the fields of banking, management consulting, investment banking, manufacturing and investments. Dave Peterson is survived by three children, two sons and a daughter; and 10 grandchildren.
