James (Jim or “Colonel”) Donoghue joined Becker’s Chicago office as a retail broker right after the completion of WWII. Jim served in the Marines, and among other locales, was in the battle for Guadalcanal. Jim built up a good individual investor book and was elected VP in 1960. Jim was one of the founder’s of the annual USMC lunch on the Corps’ birthday each November 10 at the Union League Club. It is not known when Jim retired but presumably around 1975-80.
