Alwin (Al) Pearson joined Becker in 1923 and in due course became a star salesman competing regularly for the top slot on the major producers list of salesmen in all offices from the 1920s forward. In 1953, Al opened the Roseland office, trained his sons and a good group of other recruits as top salesmen, most all of whom moved to the downtown Becker office when Roseland was closed in 1966. Al became a director and shareholder of the firm in 1949. Al retired in 1986 as vice-president of the company and general manager of the Roseland office. He was with the company for 43 years and active in Roseland business and civic affairs. He was a member of the American Legion’s Roseland post 49, and a member of lodge 765, A.F.& A.

Chicago Tribune, August 18, 1967. A.L. Pearson, Banking Firm, Dies. Alwin L. Pearson, 72, retired vice president and director of A.G. Becker & Co., nation-wide investment banking firm, died yesterday in his home. He was survived by his widow, Anne; two daughters; two sons, twenty-one grandchildren, and a sister.
