Marvin Letwat was born in Chicago in 1939 and was raised and has lived there all his life. He graduated from Roosevelt University in 1961 with a BSBA. Before joining Becker in 1965, he worked in the back office of Mitchell, Hutchins. At AGB, he started as an Accountant and eventually was promoted to Vice President and Assistant Controller. His responsibilities covered a wide range of accounting procedures, some very applicable to a securities firm.

Marvin left Becker in 1984 and joined the Accounting Department of a commodities firm working there for nine years. Thereafter, he did contract work in various industries before retiring in 2002.
